About

Ishita Singh is a Senior Programming Manager at HuffPost Live. She promotes HuffPost Live content on AOL’s home page, selecting and pitching clips appropriate for AOL’s audience and writing articles that complement the video. She also curates playlists featuring the most viral and newsworthy HuffPost Live videos, and monitors analytics for HuffPost Live, presenting daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly metrics summaries for the president, managing editor and executive producer of HuffPost Live.

Previously, she was an Assistant Editor of Video Content Development at About.com. She created original video topics complementary to popular articles on About, and assigned them to contracted video producers. She also hired new producers, evaluating their applications through a screening process and test video review. Additionally, she reviewed submitted videos for production and content quality and helped develop About.com’s first original episodic web series.

Ishita has also worked for The Daily Beast and Uinterview.com. In those positions, she honed her video editing skills, and found the most buzzworthy video clips to feature online. She also managed the Facebook and Twitter feeds for Uinterview.com, edited contributers’ work for both copy and content, and helped optimize videos and articles for search.

She has also written for and interned with a number of publications, including the Huffington Post, City Spoonful, Real Cheap Eats, The Daily Meal, Sports Illustrated, the Washington Post, espnthemag.com, the Baltimore Sun, Inside Lacrosse magazine, and Downtown Express. She received her M.S. in Digital Media from the Columbia Journalism School in May 2010.

Aside from her avid interest in watching sports, Ishita is passionate about cooking and eating (and writes about it on her food blog, bites out of life). She also obsesses over finishing crossword puzzles, traveling the world and reading short stories. She’s always on the lookout for good book recommendations, and enjoyed writing about herself in third person immensely.
